On an empty chamber close the bolt. Pull triggeer and then open the bolt. If it fells gritty it maybe the cocking notch or cocking piece. Try it and let me know how you got on.

Pre 1967 Brno model 2. I look out for these and if the stock is not very good restock in fancy walnut , remove sights, reblue, modify Ruger rings to fit. Beautiful.

All of our school chem. labs used to have similar balances and the kids used to swap around the pans. To fix them we added or removed the little lead shot balls in the bit under the pan. Problem...
