Nothing wrong with the Weavers IMO, I have a v9 on my 308 and have shot wallabies out to 300+ with it. I think some people tend to exaggerate how much you need to spend on gear for normal...

What are you wanting to shoot with it? I just skip them both and go straight to 223. ;)

The example we were given in the course was that down might not be a safe direction (ie if you're upstairs), so giving down as the answer was wrong because you were making assumptions.

I dunno, you might be going hunting somewhere that is far enough away from home that you need to refuel on the way. Not much choice about stopping at a petrol station then is there.

Looks like trampers on the Young-Wilkin circuit will be getting a green shower too then! I guess that land beside the main road is far to remote to even consider trapping or bait stations...

Does that mean its such a fatty that the Sako fans won't tell people how heavy it is?

Think he was talking about the Savage Weather Warrior which Jakewire linked to. Which really is a bargain, I'm tempted to grab one myself.

You can also get the Savage Trophy Hunter with Weaver scope for the same price, which would be my pick of the current packages. Handle a few options and see what fits you etc, thats the most...
