Based on the examples above, probably 50fps faster than a 308. ;)

Had a look at those, seem good quality too. I've had a great run from La Sportiva, my Makalus have lasted about 12 years (used mostly for rougher stuff, I've gone through 3 pairs of lighter/softer...

I don't have a 30-06. I don't shoot anything that needs a bullet over 150gr, and using a 30-06 over a 308 for 150gr is pretty pointless - long action and a lot of extra bang for what, 80fps. ...

Shot a young goat at about 160m this evening... with a 22 subsonic. Not what I would generally recommend as ethical hunting practice but a mate got a bit carried away and wounded it with an HMR,...
