   I have done this with Talleys and normal bases as well. I use just a little bit around the out side of the base so it doesn't get down the threaded holes. Once dried I use loctite 222 on the screws...

   Exactly as you have said, areldite just a small dot between bases and reciever to act as a bedding then I used blue locktite on the screws into the reciever, torque to manufacture specs
