My rem mag is doing 2939fps with 180 eldms so it’s pretty much a wash I guess. Hopefully the 7prc factory stuff will sharpen up over time

Lentle knows a lot of stuff but not all of the stuff. Treat his books as guidelines rather than rules. The deer will still be on the very best feed areas scoffing up large in mainly discrete sex...

228m, same 73gr eldm load. My youngest son's first stag, velvet ethics aside I didn't have the heart to tell him he couldn't shoot. One very happy lad, antlers off to get cured. First shot was a wee...

Mate, id just get a decent scope and load sorted for the 270 if not already and use the rest for ammo. i comfortably push my 270 to 800 yards on deer using 150 Berger's but the ranges you mention you...

you cant leave a floorplate at home.... you cant have two floor plates with two different loadings... floorplates can only hold Xamount of rounds.... detachable MIGHT be available in larger...

I would go with 1 definitely, then possibly look at shortening it / suppressing it. Rather than a whole LR rig while you are starting out, find a scope that has a spread suitable for med LR and a low...

I get the “I want a new gun” itch, but I’d suggest you get to the bottom of accuracy issue with your 270 first. You say “ but I've treated it like a bush pig and accuracy is starting to waiver“. ...

14.5" Howa Superlite. Still spits a factory 150sst out at 2720fps. If someone would make a floorplate for them I'd really be in love 242331 242332

GSP HUNTER liked post by William On thread : 270win on Wapiti
As others have probably already said, a 270 is a big cartridge, easily large enough for the biggest bull you might encounter. 140 or 150 gr loads seem pretty available, in the country around there...

Can't speak to the Kiwi variety, but we shoot a lot of Moose, Elk, Mule deer and Blackbear with 270win in Canada. it's plenty powerful enough for those species at normal (

I would go 150 grain Sako Norma Federal in that order -dependant on what you can buy - I used nothing but Forest Service supplied 150 grain for years and dropped big reds very well
