For a mountain rifle soley used for hunting where 1 or 2 shots is normally all you'd ever get is a heavier profile barrel going to give you any benefit?

In that QL data i see you have the COAL at 2.820" with a 162gr. That will be severaly reducing the powder capacity. Im running mine at a COAL of 2.965" with 67.5gr of 2217.

Yep 2217 goes well with that weight range. I run a full case of 2217 with the 162 Amax and it shoots tight at 3,005 from a suppressed 22" tube.

Sorry, only just seen this, yeah i seat the 162 Amax out long to just off the lands, they need to be single fed, and if i ever have to extract an unfired round i need to press the bolt release and...
