My greater concern if there were to be a calibre/energy limit would be how the classic big bores would be treated - everything from 35 Whelen up....for me it would affect 9.3x62, 375 H&H, 416...

Yup why I went with Criterion 243 7.5”. Good Lapua brass, Foster seater etc. Now time to play, just loaded some S107gr HPBT.

And if you have a number of similar calibre rifles with different barrel profiles but same thread the same muzzle forward can will be more versatile. Less fiddly than changing barrel bushings.

FWIW the current Hawke scopes especially the Vantage SF are light years ahead of those from a decade ago, and some of the best bang for the buck.
