    I wouldn’t do it on a rifle that would be used for bush hunting, you get enough crap in the barrel channel, etc

    I had one done. Looks neat. Doesn't save a noticeable amount of weight. Don't regret it - but itch has been scratched and it certainly costs too much for me to want to get it done on another.

    I like the "wank factor" as mikee fondly puts it. Liking the looks of it is in the eye of the beholder....bugger everyone else. Never regretted fluting the bolt, even if the beech & manuka leaves...

    I've only ever done it for asthetics but hey like you said "if you like it, you like it" most important if you are going to get it done, get it done by a reputable gunsmith.
