Done a number in the last few years. Best I’ve found is to get some spar varnish and thin it down with vegetable turps. Talking 50/50. Paint it on until it won’t absorb any more- end grain will take...

Na mate, get stuck in and checker it! For the cost of getting someone to do it, you could buy about 2-3 nice new blanks. Trust me, theres a lot of labour in a good hand cut checkering job.

Depends what your end goal is. If it’s hunting deer, then I would 100% go with the faster load at 1 MOA. My reasoning being: Lack of precision is not what will cause a first round miss. A bad wind...

Given that you’ve been annealing the brass and getting this problem, perhaps try NOT annealing and try that on a few cases. Remove one variable at a time and you will find the problem.
