    I've had a few older scopes, mostly Weaver and Kahles, and sticking adjustment came up from time to time. I too give the turret area a few wee taps, an old habit I was taught way back in the 70's....

    Take material out over the whole bedding job, not just the rear tang. Route it all out to your hearts content, install some simple pillars in the action screw holes so that its all to the right depth...
