    well I'm pleased to say my Sav 99 had a good weekend just gone. Mates son got his first goat using a Hornady 158 gr xtp over trail boss 1450 fps, did not knock him around but buggered the goat....

    308 is the only decent cal for one and as smiddy says forget chasing fps and go heavy you want it to be able to romp through bushes, twigs and foliage if need be without shredding itself on a flower....
