    Went up the island yesterday, tried my normal gunard spot, nothing but sharks.....hauled some of the best cod I've seen for ten + years and some good paua. Talked to some guys fishing in Port Hardy...

    They were hard to find this year. A lot of 1080 poison dropped in the area in the past 12 months which knocked out some of your usual spots. Most of these had to be dragged out on kids snow sleds...
