You need them "working" for a WOF. In gear on a slope with engine stopped suffices and is what you should do anyway. Just needs to hold enough to chuck a trailer on starting and stopping is a pain.

Copper tig welds really well, but welding with silfoss will be fine. If you get it hot enough in use to melt silfoss you’ll have other problems to worry about.

Don't think you'll get the plastic tank filled by on farm or rural fuel deliveries, the ones I know have fairly strict delivery container terms.
