9 mm would require a backstop or for you to line up a half dozen or so to prevent "rain on the roof" for the neighbors. 22 mag is a little more frangible but safe shooting practice still applies.

The only difference as I understand it is the sr cups are made of slightly harder alloy designed to take higher pressure without the risk of rupture. Never use sp in rifles but sr fine in pistol...
