    Yep, back about 1995 I built one on a medium action BSA Hunter, though it was an Ackley Improved version. Would send 100gr Hornady or Nosler BT out at just over 3300fps with 2213. I tried 115gr BTs...

    30-06....that's a legendary calibre, carries nostalgia in the name alone. You could carry it in the hills of NZ with confidence and never feel under gunned. Give it a go, life's about variety.
