    You can make the assist rigs pretty easy and if you switch to octopus skirts which work just as well, they can be bought cheap.

    I agree. I wish the government/DOC did too. I'm not suggesting anything in particular, just game animal status and an end to indiscriminate "pest" control on public land.

    What animals do you hunt that aren't a pest? That is the elephant in the room. Once that fundamental issue is resolved, we can start having sensible discussions about how we hunt game...
