Micky Duck liked post by Sidetrack On thread : First time reloading 270win
As an aside, went back to shooting off a bipod and rear bag. So much easier than using the Stinger. Also spaced out the rounds 3-5 minutes and spent the time just closing my eyes and concentrating on...

I actually tried the vicegrip method on my blank bullet seating test round before I reset the seating die. It worked fine except there was a tiny mark on the projectile. The OCD kicked in hard and...

Micky Duck liked post by XR500 On thread : Good lightweight suppressors?
Got a gunworks suppressor made in 1997, just as they were becoming a 'thing' here in NZ. 308. Hate to think just how many full noise rounds it's had through it. Good as the day it was machined up....

To be fair, we thought we'd only be targeting them with rod and reel. Jordy had so much fishing gear to bring in as it was without carting in a big wooden Tuna gun, but in hindsight it would have...

Yeah, bloody egg on my face there! Might have to hand back my Zoology degree... And yep, we'll be heading back down again to witness that Tuna mayhem hopefully one more time. I want to be the...

One step ahead of you :D Picked up a decent pair of binos and have storage already sussed. Managed to snag a decent hiking pack, tent and cooking gear from the pay it forward thread! Just need to add...

This is why the Leupold Mk4/5 military series are a better buy. Send them direct to the USA, not importer. My Mk4 was secondhand (dusty reticle, parallax not working properly, illumination dodgy)....

Micky Duck liked post by No.3 On thread : Price points in centrefire hunting scopes
Really good point, about what we tend to look for. In a bush hunting rifle, I would add slimness and minimum projections off the scope and also cheapness as at the moment it is such a pain in the...

Not exclusively. The 77 grn Sierra tipped match king is designed for a short AR 2.3" mag (Tikka length) and they are exceptional performers on deer.

80 grain Targex. 20 to 250 yards. All chest - shoulder shot. 5 shots for 4. One high shoulder shot needed a fixer but it wasn't going anywhere. Breaking them down today so it will be interesting...
