Shearer, you nailed it, the answer was Yes. We've all got our opinion on 22 mag. It will do the job for a competent shooter. As I've already posted, lost count of goats shot with that caliber. Do I...

Yep that nails it... Its a niche caliber these days. A .22 with extra punch, but nothing like the power of a 223 for bigger game like wallabies, goats.

FYI, Just looked up my old reloading book. 8 gr trailboss pushed my 105 gr bergers at aprox 1000 fps from my 24" barrel 243. Also know that 14 gr of trailboss pushed the 58gr vmax at 23-2400...

If you want cheap accurate projectiles Delta Mike do the 75gr flat base hollow points for $40 per 100 and they do a significant amount of damage to small critters.

Federal blue box 150 grain would be a good start, but personally I think the 06 is happiest with 165 to 178 grain bullets

I don’t know anything about first shot velocity difference because I’ve never recorded it . But I would like to comment in regards to any first shot POI shift . I was listening to podcast a while...

I certainly don't want a Fraser myself But would love to see the build quality and engraving because Daniel Fraser Co was perhaps the very best gun finishers.

I have gone way out of my way to view a couple of very rare single shot rifles recently. They are definitely Not For Sale You can't own everything, but it's very nice to have actually seen, held...

I didn't need to check Fraser only made 420 falling block single shot rifles There will be some in NZ I don't want one because he neglected to put an exposed hammer on it. But it would be...

Loaded 100 rounds of 44gr 2208. Thought with 45gr it was going to be too full. Using 150gr Sierra GMK. Seemed to seat well. Mostly PSD cases. 45gr the upper limit?

I don't reload but from an engineering background I would drill out the primer & fill the case with CRC FREEZE SPRAY. The brass case should cool down fast as and pull away from the die. It may even...

To cover kiwi conditions - .22, 223, and 308 (or similar), and 12 guage. There are of course other centrefire calibers just as effective as 308, but advantage with 308 is you always have a ready...
