I always get a giggle out of these threads. I wouldn't stand in front of any of the aforementioned calibers out to 700 yds . Here is a red deer shot with a .223 at 416 yds . 254018

I've been mucking around for ages trying to find a consistent load for my rifle. Lots of 3 shot groups. The one thing I have done is keep all my targets which are printed on an A4 sheet of paper....

Makes me feel good about my load development technique. Fire 1 shot at each charge weight to get velocity idea. Usually pick the highest, safe, velocity. Load 3 and shoot. If under an inch call it...

DJS....You say you saw 10 deer.....good for you. Much the same info as above. Just keep going back. Perhaps in a short while they may have or will moved on naturally? Read on here. Keep a...

A mate of mine in boatbuilding had some spare international everdure, which is a two-part clear low viscosity epoxy (yeah - that's a mouthful). He mixed some up and thinned it some more with epoxy...

22-250 is a nice velocity increase over 223, but is it really that different? Same with 22CM

    Micky Duck that's just the 7mm's ... .22 to 375H&H in various steps, then there's the .577 snider :D Longrun - I know right!

Get a 270. 270 projectiles are all designed for hunting (not matches) and the 6.5PRC is just a short fat 270 with slightly better ballistics (don't worry, the deer don't notice).

I would also say it's the opposite, the smaller bullets like .223 with the more frangible bullets used will damage more meat than a traditional soft point .308 will. I have a .375H&H which everyone...
