We (me, 2 sons and grandson) ended up with 18 ducks, 30 gurnard and a sambar for the weekend. The sambar was meant to be a pheasant. Carrying a pheasant would have suited me better.

A .357 lever action should work well. You can run .38 special in it to quiet it down, short and handy in the bush with quick follow up shots.

When i cant clearly identify the bird I stop shooting. To me it’s not about numbers but the shooting, one of the reasons why I cant relate to the shoot them on the water brigade.

Servicing the batteries on a PLB is a rort. There is little reason why changing the battery shouldn't be end user maintenance. PLBS should also be heavily subsidised or at least GST exempt.
