Unless it suppressed to reduce the recoil, it is too big of a cartridge to go letting an 8 year old shoot it, If I were you I would get hold of robbie from gunworks and look at getting it suppressed...

I use a 4.5x14-40 vx3 cds and I use it as a bush scope and a target scope I turn the power down in the bush and if I'm shooting an animal on another face I've got the scope to do it.it also works...

I guess that is where we differ. I don't see any need to have a valid reason to own/use a semi. If you have a FAL, you should be fine to use anything for any lawful purpose.
