A nice 22 Hornet could fit the bill, good on cattle up close, fine for rabbits, hares, possums etc out to 150-200 yds, can be converted to K Hornet version for a little more omph. K Hornet can use...

This is the first time I have shot at steel gongs. We shot at 400, 650, and 900 yards and we managed hits at all ranges. 900 yards is a long way for my first time at it but was surprised to get a hit...
