   Yep bent rod is the way to go you use your legs more not your back..leg muscles are bigger:thumbsup:

   I think bent butt rods would be better for electric reels

   I think the bent butt is so it can be winched from the rod holder without highsticking the rod (snapping rod by lifting too high) But I am only a learner myself so could be wrong.

   They are bloody good when fishing in 400+m off Kaikoura. I used the ones that were advertised in the H&F catalogue a while back. Can't remember the name sorry. They were on the fishing boat the guy...
