   If you're flying in, just take the usual stuff you would normally take on a hunting trip. Fiordland no different, it's just a bit steeper, a bit deeper and can rain more than most places.

   Like Munsey said. Wettest time of the year. That also means highest sandfly numbers. If any piece of skin is not covered the little buggers will bite it, they are worst near fresh running water. But...

    Fluting will save hardly any weight. How much does a new fluted barrel cost? ie buy a new fluted barrel and sell your unfluted barrel. Might work out cheaper.
