That's a bit like asking to borrow someone's mrs. Go and talk to your local F&G officer. There will be shitloads of public access points around the manukau and on the Waikato river.

I left home at 5am this morning to check an area I've not hunted for 3 years. It did used to hold good numbers of red deer. I started my climb in the dark at 6:30 am. Soon I was up on the ridge...
