My thoughts as well but not for the same reason you list - I much prefer the direct drive and being able to control what cog. Nothing worse than a hunting tranny... If the trans isn't coming up...

That clogger gear is good, I have Stihl PPE simply cause I got it cheap and secondhand haha. Hear that about the big saws, a lot of horsepower pulls the string straight through. The sleeper for...

The point with steam is that it doesn't dry the wood out. If you dry the wood out, you can bend it but it can also shrink in weird places due to drying out and also as it is now really dehydrated,...

Which model are you looking at - the 3.2L? Get a good fuel system service and check if so, and find someone with a decent datalogger that can hook up and see what the fuel system is doing. If you...

If you go 50mm front and rear you will just achieve a slightly higher saggy bum. Controversial statement, but what you want over the factory leafs at the rear is more, more compliant individual leaf...

How much height do you need, only a rifle. New brackets on the tank to lower it by the required amount and it's actually the perfect solution as the bottom of the floor mod isn't visible at all. ...

Hmmmm... Can you recess the floor section down between the chassis rails in an area and have a decent thickness steel box with a locking lid that is in itself concealed under the floor coverings? ...

The 046/MS460 is a good size, I have a lot more respect for them after doing the rebuild on the squashed one I got. I like the design more than the 044/MS440 as it doesn't have the sleeve/collar on...
