Ok, you win this thread. Those TRG's are bloody nice, but I do contest that Sako forgot to include the trolley for the porters to drag the thing behind you...

Only problem with your theory is keeping a bloody collar on the cat. The only way my daughter has found so far is to use pretty wire-cored flower arranging stuff, wound tight enough to nearly top...

Yeah, the little 'horseshoe' spring that clicks in between the sear and the mag catch often cracks and/or loses tension, after all they are likely 75-odd years old... If the spring isn't at full...

First question I have, is the mount and scope for sale or even the mount by itself? I have a sporter already drilled to fit one of them and have been looking for one... The scope rings listed...

Yep that's the electronic ones, some of them do that. The mechanical jobbies are supposed to have a cam arrangement that is meant to allow you to go backwards, but your mileage might vary on that. ...

A well fitted rifle is naturally more prone to settle into the 'right' sighting plane, and you aren't using muscles to hold yourself or the rifle off where it wants to naturally sit to keep it on...

Shot a stag a few years back on the lead in to the roar, had a solid 1/2" and in some places an even 1" of fat on it. Kept about 2Kg of pure venison fat - made unreal sausages. Most I've ever seen...

If you get short, any will do in a pinch. Can often get pork roasts that are cheap as chips and dripping in fat, by the time you trim them you have a nice roast and half a plate of trimmed fat.
