nor-west liked post by Tahr On thread : Scope for .223
My .223 has got a NF SHV 3-10 with MOA reticle. One of the best things Ive ever bought. Bomb proof. Reticle fast to use for hold over if required. And dials accurately if need be, Micky Duck I dial...

nor-west liked post by stug On thread : Scope suggestions for 375 H&H
The .375 is ballistically very similar to the 30/06, but with a bit more ooommppphhh. Seeing as dangerous game aren’t really a consideration in NZ, use the same scope you would use on a 30/06.

nor-west liked post by Tentman On thread : 308 14 inch barrel what bullet?
The Speer 130 gn is a very solid performer (the Aussies use heaps of them for "station ammo" that has to deal with roos to bush bulls - so I was reliably informed by a Queensland mate last night). I...

Darn tootin,! Back in the '60's a good mate of mine made an excellent copy of a .22 Colt Woodsman from an exploded view parts diagram and the entire job was done on a Myford ML7 with a milling slide...

The quicker your follow up shot the more likely you will miss. Plenty of time with a bolt action I reckon.

nor-west liked post by Tentman On thread : Resurgence of interest in the old "Three Oh"?
My Dads No1 Mk3 holds pride of place in my cabinet, it was one of the BSA sporterised ones sold in the early 1950's. Dad was a "child of the depression" and his family did it very hard, he left...

nor-west liked post by Tahr On thread : Classics corner and vintage rifle reviews
The 25 Stevens was the first rifle I ever fired. It was 55 years ago. I shot a 'possum with it. The old chap who owned the rifle had a nice mounted red deer that he shot with it in the Tokomaru...
