Back on the farm and off up the back for a hunt. We’ve had a run of hard, heavy frosts, been deadly cold at night. But then the rain came, and the wind changed and I worked out an approach into one...

It went right through. High shoulder shot just under the spine. A few inches higher than where I expected but it was a steep down hill spot. Mostly the 6.5 Amax do pass through.

Norway liked post by ishoot10s On thread : Rifle canted, scope level
Most Running Target shooters have their rifles set up with a few degrees of cant. This is so you can lift to the shoulder and sight without having to tilt your head to the side. Less body movement...

Norway liked post by Marty Henry On thread : Lessons from a verification shoot
I've been enjoying time with my howa in 7.62 x39 recently it's now my go to pest rifle. I had fitted it with a nikko stirling gameking 3-9 half mil dot and found it ticked the boxes out to 400 for...

The bulletdrop doesn't lie. Amazing how small errors can change the results. At least you got it sorted ok.

Norway liked post by Barefoot On thread : Climbing & killing deer with my 6 XC
I know that any load I've tried in my 6XC has shot well, from 85gr to 105gr projectiles. It operates on a little higher pressure than the .243 so you get the same performance for a little less powder.

Excellent video, and very appropriate here as well, particularly in the likes of our big river country. I've made many approaches on Tahr from 1000M or more down to 200M by using "relief" across the...
