Your 3rd hand rumours are not to far off! Wouldn't call myself a tourist though, was there to hunt! Don't set up trail cameras but a mate did once on a trip there 4 years ago. Yes I set up a fly...

piwakawaka liked post by Tahr On thread : An old bruiser AMaxed
It was a bugger of a wind last night coming from a Nor/NorWest direction that made the main bush difficult to hunt, so I headed up a side gully that I mainly see Fallow in and never Reds. Anyway,...

166150 Last one of my roar I think. My mate and I heard this guy open his gob down a small gut. I had my mate sit on a spur and roar every 3 mins as the dog and I snuck in. 23 mins later that was...

Silly as it may sound...the way you carry your rifle will determine just how much water your scope will collect. When I'm bush stalking the front of my scope is pointing slightly downward and the...

Keep at it. Next time go up The Te Tuhi track. You will save a few hours walk. Rather than stay in huts. Bush hunting is hard but persevere. Eventually you will have success.

My Bushnell 4200 3-9 x 40 has proven itself to me bush hunting in the rain. Never not been able to look through it.

piwakawaka I have 5 several Bushnell Elites 6500's, 4500, 4200, 3500's and 3200. The rainguard is fantastic! The 3500 2-7x32 is great during the day but lack at first and last light.

As long as they paid the ballot fee it's difficult to see the problem with not actually going in to hunt if the weather was appalling. Be interesting to hear the FWF's perspective on this as we've...
