An interesting question relating to wild animal management for hunters is "what do you think should be done regarding tahr outside the feral range specified by the HTCP" ? I.e. the introductions,...

It's also horrifically complicated to find, but there is an interactive map generated that plots all the FPI data as heat maps, either plot level/park level so you can visually see where ungulate...

I've been pondering this for a while and after nailing a big bodied 8 point red stag at 170m with a 117gr federal power shok load recently, I've been seriously asking myself and drilling my...

The first problem is that Waro is already entrenched, provides jobs, export dollars and more than likely political donations. And the problem with that is that deer have to be wrested away from...

Just using hypothetical numbers to illustrate a point, although in my defence it is a big patch with all the Rakaia facing country included.

I disagree it would end up just foreigners shooting the mature animals as its an easy solve by limiting % of foreign hunters and by making them pay more so less foreigners apply. Keep local prices...

Sorry for double post above. The delete button never works and removing all content from the double post doesn't work. But back on topic, Waro can make a justifiable argument that each deer they...

The outcome I would like to see is as follows: A balanced age group population of deer with a good proportion of trophy quality and aged stags in those few areas that can produce them. The current...

Having re read all 12 pages i have come to the conclusion that we as hunters are going to bear the responsibility of game animal management and we must guard against the erosion of our right to hunt...

Nothing is perfect in life, but the point on this matter is that currently WARO shoots out the biggest stags every summer in the trophy producing areas. They shoot stags in preference to hinds. As a...

I definitely don't agree that should be the case. Foreigners should definitely pay and it the cases of ballots etc they should pay significantly more similar to how it works in the states. Ie in...

No ones ever suggested tags for hinds only stags in specific areas. And to the GAC although improvement of its jurisdiction would need to be made first obviously.

Tag fees would go into management and the fee would be set to balance that cost. Is a Duck Licence 'another barrier' or does having a season and bag limits (management) mean that there are always...
