That's my experience as well. I think we developed as vision based predators and that the act of looking for game is the key to experiencing a "predatory state", the thermal just about kills that.

from what Ive seen of animal behaviour in block of public land I regularly hunt and have done for 25 years....the front country,the semi open stuff is carrying far less animals than 5 years...

Not saying I agree with it at all, in fact quite the opposite. But i just hunt the way i enjoy, for myself. If people want to use them then whatever, I imagine they have their place on private...

I guess the worry is, as they get more popular they will become common place on public land spots. Much more discreet than a spotlight. I've allready seen in numerous time s on doc land,

ok for ME personally....as a control tool,fair enough go for it,same as using a whirly bird,not sporting as such,but a efficent way to reduce numbers quickly when other methods fail.....on private...
