Out of interest for anyone reading all this it is not bullet weight that decides required twist rate but bullet length! if there was a heavy enough core material available I could make a 200gr...

It's the bullet. Unless your mate has an 8 twist he's pushing shit uphill. I see it's all been said above, you're onto it now.

Targex make a 105 that will stabilise in a 1:10 (you need to ask for them specifically cos there is a 105 for faster twists too).

An example of the profiles is the heavy for calibre roundnose projectiles. Like the hornady 117s in 25 cal. Think that's right. They are actually quite short for the weight and are meant to...

ROCK, help your mate. Howa 243s comes with a 10twist barrel, which will stabilize projectiles to a cetain length. The 95gr TMk, are longer than the lenght projectile a 10t barrel can stabilise. ...

I have a laugh when I see the comments in relation to copper vs lead. Has anyone ever seen the result of a small cobblers “copper nail” and what it does to a large tree. It’s far from non toxic.

When I was a Gunnery instructor, we had bloods taken annually and they were measured for all the nasty stuff including lead. Not once did I hear of or know about anyone whose blood exceeded the...

Don't believe this?, put up a really big target and I mean big a1 sized at 200 metres and fire a few rounds at it, go look at the holes if there are any. You'll be a convert

It's cool that there are actually sensible factory options emerging for .223 - right twist rate and good mags

Thanks, I will try and pick up a sample pack (if they have them) at Gunworks next time I'm there. I currently have 125gr Pro Hunter and 168gr A-max, plus a few randoms... I'd be keen to see what you...

A good 4lb trigger is vastly superior to a dodgy 2-3lb trigger. In hunting situation I find 4lb better than 2lb,it's more deliberate. I suggest you leave it be for six months n rethink it then. Might...
