I like heavy for caliber pills in my 7mm08 tikka. I've had exceptional performance with the 162gr ELD-M both near and far. Great accuracy with 2208 but pedestrian speed, have gained 150fps with...

I'd just run the 7mm08 with reloads. It'll do the job on game, past the distances you've mentioned. Use the $$$ you were gonna use on that 270 and invest in a decent scope. Far better upgrade than...

You have chosen one of the least slippery pointy 7mm pills on the market mate

7mm08 is more than capable. Good factory choices150 grain eldx the Norma tip strike. And some good glass. Ps. 270's are awesome but you have all you need.

Rem M7 in a KS McMillan, 16" 7mm08 with DPT and Leupold Mk4 m3 3.5-10x40 (has done everything from 20-300m). Best load for this is a Nosler BT 120 going about 2650fps. 259308259309

Howa superlite 308, 14.5" barrel, Vixen 2-8, weighs 2.45kg all up, good wee shooter and still puts the factory 150gr superformance out at 2750fps so good for 350 easy. If they made a floorplate for...

I really like the Bergara Extreme hunter in .308 Cerakoted to protect from rusting in your hands when you're in the damp bush. Leupold VX 3-9x40 zeroed at 100m and drives tacks with factory...

The best thing to do is get people used to seeing hunters carrying rifles (where they are allowed to). Make it normal and not something to get all anxious about.

Yup Blackfern nailed it but I can't help myself . . . After a couple of the higher powered 7mm cartidges I somewhat by chance came by a 6.5-284 . . . And it has changed my thinking considerably. ...

I think it’s all good with you have time if you’re shooting long range the animal doesn’t know you’re there and you have time to put on PPE etc I think it’s impractical to hunt wearing hearing...

My main one is great with 120BT's. Accurate, going 2930avg out of a 16.5" barrel and they hit hard. Ironically it's my cheapest (and first) rifle, but if I'm going hunting, it's the one I grab...
