Perch, tench and rudd (Auckland/Waikato only) are "game fish", so you do need F&G license to fish for them. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me as they are not stocked or managed as far as I can...

I believe you do need a license from F&G, I never did though (I was a kid and knew no better). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Probably bringing this thread off course. I use the Rudd as cut chunks and carp as a straight fillet. No salting or additives. Did the bizo for me in the centre of Waitemata harbour. Could I have...

Rudd are abundant in most of the Waikato hydro lakes, used to catch them as a kid with a bit of bread under a float. They’re also in Lake Rotoroa (Hamilton Lake), as are perch and catfish. Can’t say...

Trout spinning gear (small veltic) in Lake Ototoa up South Head is good for a perch and they taste fine

Main reason I won't buy Swazi is it's way too expensive for polarfleece. Then he moved production offshore. Then he threw us under the bus.

The difference is the defence force has the freedom to buy its gear from NZ again if it wants to. We will most likely never get to shoot the great guns again. Such a fine past time has been...

Chris Cahill admitted to this. Semi and pump shotguns were spared because they were worried they might not get the whole thing over the line if they pissed off too many people. All it would take is...

Mate you might be able to reliably kill a hare with 22LR every shot but I've found the round is marginal, great with good placement but only an inch out and it's non-fatal. You appear to be making a...

An illogical decision from the government, no doubt to keep F&G/duck hunters on side.

There was a shit storm on one of the FB pages regarding this, Davey himself commented on the thread and more or less doubled down on his stance. I can respect a man for not flip flopping. But as a...
