Some of these weights aren't to far off an actual tent (inner + outer) I get that dropping weight is the goal, but to me a 2 or 3 hundred gram weight reduction isn't worth potentially getting wet...

I'd keep the ute if i were you, far more practical to biff an animal on the back and not have to worry about blood ruining the carpet, wet packs and muddy boots etc...
