As majority have said 308 will do all he needs and more. Yes there’s other flasher calibres out there does he need one probably not. Get a 308 Spend the money on a good dial up scope and get it set...

Hoophorn stream on the edge of Mt Cook national park is easy access and good for a day hunt. Snow will be the limiting factor.

Hi all I have posted this pic on the forum before, however I thought I had shot a young up and coming sika when I get him aged from his jaw it turns out he is 10.3 years old. Don't feel so bad now....

I’m like that when I find a Coleman gas cooker :) Then after using it somewhere way the hell up a river somewhere I remember how good gas canister systems are :)
