Bungees are a must - agreed. Cable ties simply help tie off the chain ends and minimise risk of a thrown/lost chain

Carry a few heavy duty cabje ties. Use them to tie off any loose chain end so it's not flopping around. Drive a 100m then recheck and possibly retighten the chains after fitting them
