Interesting to see that track is only closed to vehicles as those tramping through would be in danger as they are using the road as a hauling track at the moment...of course they may have stopped...

4X4 vehicles (2) got through from BoP to Waikato two weekends ago...from BoP side it is faster to walk than drive...14 km from that side to top. Don't bother going in from Waikato side with vehicle...

In sika country, when you stop for a break and there are two of you, sit well apart or back to back...if on your own, then make sure when you are about to stand up that your rifle is in both hands...

Too know that the exit hole is similar to the entry hole, one would have had to have found the animal...what's the problem?

I took my dog [Smithfield/lab x] on many a roar trip and found him to be excellent at keeping cool under stress when trying to move in on a stag that was in full noise. Could pick the difference...

Even with the stamina of the South Island boys, there is no way they could have been shagged to death...way too many, unless it was a whole football team of them.
