    I know you say you don't want an airgun but PCP airguns are your answer, something adjustable so you can dial the power right back. They are not cheap but it's the only safe option in that situation.

    Hollow points ricochet just the same as solids Horses and houses as close as you mention I wouldn’t ever fire another shot there in my lifetime The consequences are too costly
