   I know you say you don't want an airgun but PCP airguns are your answer, something adjustable so you can dial the power right back. They are not cheap but it's the only safe option in that situation.

    Yep that's exactly what to do to teach them the vets isn't just a place of poking and prodding. We are taking a couple of our new dogs to the vets for a 5 or 10min walk through with plenty of treats...
