Go the 260, superdiver had one that performed really well with a short barrel. So do a few others. The 6.5x284 doesnt tend to respond well to the chop. You could go 30/284 which has been done here...

I have shot quite a few animals with them they seem pretty soft very effective inside 100 at 2915 mv longest shot 600 ish and still Expanded well. May be a bit soft for up close work with your win...
