I am a secondary school teacher who enjoys hunting, especially getting high in te hills and glassing. I use a 7mm remington magnum.

    Possibly, once you have a load with promise at 100, then try 300. Some loads that group OK at 100 group even better at 300 plus. (ie 1" at 100 but 2" at 300) I can't ( and I don't think anyone else...

    For tahr there is a ballot each year where you can access the blocks by chopper, that you normally aren't allowed to fly in to ( you can only use the chopper to fly to the designated campsite)....

    Another guideline is the only vertical surface in contact with the bedding is the back of the recoil lug. I put a single layer of tape on all other vertical surfaces.

    I don't think there is a taper, I did exactly the same thing with mine and never noticed a problem. They are curved on the outside from memory and will rotate slightly in the rings.
