Stainless steel and plastic/carbon fibre is very functional but lacks atmosphere (couldn't think of a better word) of blued steel and walnut. I took my Mauser 9.3x62 on my week long sika hunt rather...

In my model 7 7 SAUM I use the 140 accubond as the spook and shoot load and then 162 amax for the long range load. My velocities aren't as high as 7mmsaum, but they can probably go higher with some...

Go for it Toby. Mauser and 7x57 go together, although the M12 is not a real mauser. But then you would have to sell both kidneys as well as all your rifles to be able to buy a new Mauser M98.

Be careful shooting steel as close as 100yds, minimum for safety is closer to 300 yds.
