    Drive up the track to the repeater on Mt Studholme above Waimate. Plenty up around there. Some good long shots across gullies so your 308 will get a good workout.

    The LeHigh brass subsonic projectiles will give the expansion and quick kills you are after, but they are spendy and will need reloading. Otherwise try Roberts lead hollow points.

    NZ Fibreglass is a good source of carbon fibre. I used 200gsm plain weave. You need about 1 m for a stock if you do 4 layers of carbon fibre.
