Yes, ammo costs are getting up there alright @ $114/20 for 6.5 CM & $86/20 for 270 etc, but considering the overall cost of going for a hunt for some people individuals, ammo is a relatively minor...

Generally a mag full plus 10. Bullets aren’t that heavy so rather have too many than not enough

76 grn Absolute Hunter. Nothing to write home about. Killed this nice little fluffy stag at 215 yards. Any bullet would have killed it. Hit a bit low and it bolted/bowled about 20 yards down hill....

I dont think it's aimed at the average hunter who has worked out through trial and error their maximum effective shooting range. Id class myself in that bracket too. But it is I think anyway...

At least it's not through the wrist, it's not structural just cosmetic. If you want that rifle and otherwise it sounds fine try haggling a bit more
