wear the best possible earmuffs, much of a flinch is "in your head" and reducing the noise of the shot helps considerably. And shoot your 22 rf a lot.

Ive got a lot of this and mostly agree with your report. However the batch I'm running is very accurate in my bolt gun and the dirty nature of it isn't a problem in a bolt action.

You can but it will take a very small amount of machining and maybe a tickle with a reamer, but it's a $100-200 job as opposed to a full barrel fit with runs closer to $500 with my local GS.

PS - lost rifles. My uncle Dennis (Hughes) was a wandering bushman, he knew most of the nooks and crannies of the Bryant range. Problem was he was a thinker, and sometimes he'd sit down for a...

Nice. The Hart family will be long gone from the Camping Ground but were good buggers. Rowan Maule might still be about, a good friend from my youth. You'll no doubt run across some of the Bryant...

I was brought up in that area - went to Canvastown School, our family farmed in the Pelorus and Rai Valleys for 5 generations. Our farm backed the Wajamarina Valley. I've hunted in the Wakamarina...

caberslash liked post by Tentman On thread : Why do .22s have such different accuracy with different ammunition?
I guess another way of thinking about it is that many 22 accuracy claims are overstated, therefore ones expectations can be out of whack with what is "achievable". Yes it does take access to a 22 of...

Even different batches of the same ammo will produce the "splatter" you mention. There us a saying in the 22 benchrest and PRS circles "your 22 is only as good as the batch of ammo that you have at...
