    If small deer and not far to the car I use the carry belt method,just gut and head off then able to hang deer to tenderise.,clean way to carry as well no blood down the back.

    I do mostly the same but skin most of the way up the back to the front shoulder and use that to wrap the hind quarters kind of,makes nice padding and keeps a lot of the blood off you.

    Good idea to have blaze material on the hindquarters as well where i hunt it gets pretty busy..

    I limit myself to 50m with the cast 150g and trail boss,look at it like bow hunting,unless you can brain or spine shoot them be prepared to do some tracking.

    40g 2206h with 150g projectiles or better 30-30 projectiles if they will feed reliably in your gun ( wouldn’t in mine sadly)are my go to for my 10yr old,16in barrel and suppressed .308 Very similar...

    I just bought a muzzle forward main bit for mine when I shoot with the opens,then swap baffles from the overbarrel onto it.,will post pictures after dinner.
