Ive seen that comment elsewhere. Trouble is, you open any un-opened gate to the public and you get mainly young stags being shot which does nothing for population control and ruins the potential of...

Coming to the same conclusions as you is what prompted me to start this thread . Barrel length and the performance you forfeit by lopping of multiple inches from the barrel is a topic that seems to...

i like the balance and pointability of a bare rifle. i just value my hearing more than the ergonomics.

Are you predominantly hunting I bush and broken country? if so then 8x42mm would be a good choice. If you do a lot of alpine & open country, then 10x42mm is a better option.

There is a good chance that you are taking more care with your shots and placing them better. I know that I do with the .223.

I used to use my trusty Macpac Olympus for everything but because it's a bit heavy it pretty much only gets used for fly-in or drive in trips these days. (A pack of marauding Kea shredded the fly a...

Here's another film which is nothing but a different perspective to you. But the clothing layering principles are the same for those of you that hunt the winter season. And perhaps haven't...

Another one for the mighty 223, this yearling look bigger from about 250m away because I didn't have anything to reference it against. Will taste delicious though. 198026

After using a 243 for 45 odd years, a year ago I invested in a 223. Over the last 12 months I have shot 7 assorted Sika, over 70 to 145 yards, not one has taken a single step. All with Hornady...

I'll admit to having a few safe queens, I also have a few beaters. Always feel sad seeing beautiful things that have been wrecked and abused.
