Nice WallyR, Model 54 actions are accredited with the fastest lock time of any out there. Follow thru is really important as well as not chasing the dot /spot let your natural figure of 8 glide...

I shoot both 22's at Masterton Miniature Rifle Club. Both have scopes, 1 has a bipod (the 'real' target rifle). Still get scored, but don't bother with competitions, don't need the stress. If I...

Maybe a silly question but is there generally a class or group in small bore clubs where you can use say a beat up JW15 with a scope for practice instead of jumping right into it with a target rifle?

Good advice on here already. At one stage, after shooting unsuppressed .270s and 22-250s my whole life I started missing for no apparent reason. After getting absolutely sick of it after a few...

I have not developed a flinch yet, but the odd thing that I found tightened my groups up was shooting a suppressed 22 with subs in the next bay to a guy shooting a 338LM with a brake. I just never...

Those groups are ok. How well you shoot depends on a lot of things. Those would be good to a 200m on a deer. And it was your first go.

TimK I'm using Smallbore as a training tool for F/TR. All of the above info from the other posters, is excellent. zimmer sent me a fault identification/correction chart, which I've been practicing....

I found their clip on shooting positions helpful. Except i won't be carting shooting sticks up the hill with me. Other stuff was helpful

Good advice above already. I see you have a muffler on there but make sure you wear good hearing protection while shooting, half of the cause of flinch is the noise and blast. T3 recoil pads are...

there is a clip on you tube called "improve your marksmanship" by county deer stalking. It talks about flinching and may or may not be of some help.

Lots of practise with the22 and convince yourself the 308 is the same, therefore no reason to flinch

My suggestion, once you sort out the flinch, try a few types of ammo, my 308 loves hornady superperformance it is $3.50 a shot though

Putting a lot of shots on paper in a short time frame gave me a flinch. When shooting an animal I don't. I think it's because the mind is focusing on the animal, knowing it could move. The paper...
