Don't buy a second hand pulsar unless it is still under warranty. We do a lot of night work and virtually every single pulsar we have had dealings with has had to be sent back, usually within two...

Buck shot is awesome. Seems to have a pretty bad reputation here by the looks. Rules to using buck shot are simple. Know your range and your gun's limitation. If you can consistently get 4 buck...

Another tick for the 168gr eldm/amax. Just one of those combos that work better than it should. Mine load through a 16" is 45gr 2208 giving me 2520fps. Furthest deer was 635 yards.

Yeah .308 vote here too, 16". Easy to get ammo. If you see a deer at 500 yards then it is more than capable of that. You can buy a 16" Tikka one already threaded off the shelf.

Yeah I was in the same boat as you last year. 223 just wasn't cutting it for night work on deer and everything else I owned had too much recoil and is a pain losing sight of the animal at night. ...

The new pard scopes are apparently a lot better. I had a pard 008 but had quite a small field of view, because of the mounting setup it also got knocked out fairly easily in the side x side. I use a...

I use it for 130gr speers and it is very accurate. Never chronographed it though so can't comment on velocity.

Yeah for a lot of people in Hawkes Bay she's going to be slim pickings this roar. Having seen the state of some of the roads accessing the Kawekas on the eastern side, unfortunately there is not...

Quite a few of the cullers run 12" to 14" barrels and they shoot a fair amount of animals so 16" be fine. Mine is 15" or so and have no trouble shooting deer with it. Even out at 300 plus yards seem...

I have an 18" barrel on my .243 and have shot about 70 deer in the last 5 months with it. 2/3s of them have been over 300 yards with 10 or so being over 500. Yet to lose one and many of them have...
